Sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Ready Kids is a tool to help parents and teachers educate children ages 8-12 about emergencies and to help children get their families prepared. The website includes family-friendly pages and materials developed by Sesame Workshop and Discovery Education, including two games that will test children’s knowledge of a wide range of emergencies and teach them how to build the perfect emergency kit.
Real World Design Challenge
The Real World Design Challenge is an annual competition that provides high school students in grades 9-12 the opportunity to work on real-world engineering challenges. Each year, student teams address a challenge that confronts our nation's leading industries. Students utilize professional engineering software to develop their solutions and generate presentations to demonstrate the value of their solutions. This competition provides opportunities for students to apply classroom learning to workplace technical problems. This website contains information for applying for and participating in the competition.
